In Honor of Great Men!

One big concern about writing a blog focused on women clients is the one-sided nature of the viewpoint.  Yada, Yada, Yada…. always writing about how men need to change for women – blah, blah, blah!

Let me assure you, I  greatly appreciate the strengths of men.  In fact, most of my clients are men and we do great work together.

In honor of Father’s Day, here are a few things that I admire about the great men I work with:

Courage – Many “do battle” in a relentlessly fierce environment. I am awed by their ability to go at it day after day

Valor – I’ve witnessed hero’s generously help others – even at their own risk – true champions

Loyalty – They lead and mentor team-members with great care

Vigor – They get hit, bounce back and keep going again and again

Fire – They have the vision, drive and focus to achieve great things

Tip of the Day:

Celebrate your strengths!   You impact those around you more than you realize and we are grateful for you!

Resource of the Day:

Recently, I read an article in the Wall Street Journal about the challenges for women entrepreneurs.  It was a “spot-on” assessment of what holds women back – much of it self-inflicted.  Just click the link below.  It holds great ideas to deepen your relationship with women clients while supporting their business growth.  I see lots of opportunities.  Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss them.

    Barbara,

    Thanks for this special post.

Each living person, male or female, has built-in ability to exercise any and all of the virtues you listed. We’re just as capable of overdoing one (or more) or shirking our turns to behave with greatness. The men in my life I admire the most (Dad, Father-in-law, and a few others) lived these virtues, and more, they did it with humility, without which any one of these virtues becomes a vice or an idol.

I’m stapling your list of virtues to the backs of my eyelids…hoping to behave with humility.

    Jonathan,

Thanks for your great input. You are right, humility is the glue that holds all these great values in proper balance. Hat’s off to all the men who live these out with grace and humility!

    Barbara
