Wealthy Women Want Financial Advisors

Fact of the Day:

The Affluent Insights Quarterly just released the latest research on wealthy Americans (investible assets of $250,000 and more).  Here are the key points and five opportunities they reveal:

Fact: 44% of those surveyed work with an advisor – of those 81% are satisfied

Opportunity #1: Great news!  The wealthy are pleased with their advisors – that makes for great referrals!

Fact:  56% do NOT work with a financial advisor

Opportunity #2: Stunning, a majority of wealthy Americans need advisor assistance – many new clients are waiting!

Fact:  Women are much more concerned than men about their financial health in ALL areas.  This translates into a concern index that is 10-15% higher across the board

Opportunity #3: Women have a strong desire to get their financial house in order – those who meet this need will engage these clients!

Fact:  Women are the center of multigenerational finances as gatekeepers to the retirees and the next generation

Opportunity #4: Engage the women and reach all generations of clients!

Fact:  Women have a broad and deep influence over finances in wealthy households – they make many decisions!

Opportunity #5: The experts say it best:  “Advisors should keep in mind the greater role of women in financial decisions when engaging their clients” Lyle LaMothe – head of U.S. Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch.

I love uncovering new research like this.  It continues to reinforce everything written in The $14 Trillion Woman.  Women are the dominant force over the nation’s wealth.
